Please list below the top 3 birds you have ever seen ever:

1. Golden Eagle - Mull of Kintyre, August 2008. Sheer majesty. The biggest high 5 Le Hatt and I have ever shared.

2. Bearded Tit - Eastbridge Sluice, Whitsun 2009 ( also at other Norfolk sights since). Gorgeous and unlike any other bird. A privilege to set eyes on and amazing ping.

3. Gannet - Uig, Skye, August 2008. Ridiculously well designed. Sleek beauty. Also betray the presence of delicious mackerel.

Went on a bike ride along the Camel estuary near Padstow today, on the way there Del Boy spotted a buzzard perched on a road sign and that was just a start. Also saw

Curlew, oyster catcher, crow, canadian geese, sandpiper, heron, egret, shag, lapwing and a lapwing. Also stopped to speak to a bearded man looking through a telescope, he reported a pair of whooper swans in the field across the estuary.

Top birding Sis'. I narrowly missed out on a Shag this morning. Seriously! You don't get many round here and I didn't check it out well enough, assuming the possible rarity was just a Cormorant. It was then reported as a Shag on the twitchers' website! Zut alors!

Nice. Noisy buggers aren't they. We saw some in Yosemite.
